It all started when…

I first came across the work that Ps Arun manages, during my visit in February 2019. I was astounded that he could feed the entire village children, all who are deemed of low-caste, with very little personal income or support.

I knew that I would have to find some means of supporting this project, not as a one-off, but on an ongoing basis.

A donation was given by the Bridge Family Church, to be used on my return visits in November.

I merely informed Ps Arun, that I would be calling and asked that he arrange a ‘feast’ for the children for that day.

I was not disappointed.

Over 40 children of differing ages turned up to be fed. Who wouldn’t?

Ps Arun’s wife and some of the mothers did the cooking, the older girls prepared the food, and two students from Victory Bible College, Kathmandu, helped to serve.

The children who no doubt were hungry, showed marvellous patience as they had prepared a programme of song and dance as a ‘thank you’ to me.

Their discipline was amazing, all the children waited until everyone had a dish of food before commencing to eat. There was more than enough food to offer seconds, thirds and even fourths!

No child went hungry that to the members of  day in Aurahi village.

I left, thinking and planning how I could raise support on a more regular basis.

This is how “Eira’s Challenge” was born - Eira the Sheep being the school mascot of Cwmrhydyceirw Primary School, Swansea that accompanied me on my visit.

A simple challenge.

All the members of the church would bring their spare change, pennies, silver, pound coins even, and fill a large glass jar with it.

My estimation was that we could raise enough to feed the children on a regular basis.

My goal?

That we have an abundance of donations, so that we can address other needs in the village, shoes, school uniforms, text books, simple medical supplies - the list is endless - we are limited by what is given each week.

As you read this, and look at the accompanying photos, please consider giving, so that no child will go hungry, no child will go without.

If your are interested in helping in anyway, then please email Gareth below. I know God will bless you as you give of your time and money to this very deserving project.
